The series “The Rookie” is based on a real-life LAPD officer named William Norcross. He had moved to Los Angeles in 2015 and joined the police department in his mid-40s. However, the story of the series revolves around a fictional character of John Nolan, who is a 45-year old divorced man from Pennslyvania. He was a former owner of the construction company and a father of a son in college. Nolan goes on to graduate as the oldest rookie from the academy and joins the force. So, as the show progresses, John slowly learns that he must work through the dangerous, and unforeseeable nature of his job if he wants to establish himself in this new career. The main cast of the show includes Nathan Fillion as John Nolan; Alyssa Diaz as Angela Lopez; Titus Makin Jr. as Jackson West; Mercedes Mason as Zoe Andersen; Melissa O’Neil as Lucy Chen; Afton Williamson as Talia Bishop; Eric Winter as Tim Bradford; Mekia Cox as Nyla Harper; Richard T. Jones as Wade Grey; and Shawn Ashmore as Wesley Evers. A quick recap of the series till now

In the previous episode i.e. Episode 6 of Season 3, we saw that Officer Nolan decides to return to school in order to become a training officer. However, his decision is proving to be quite difficult than he had expected. Nolan didn’t tell his fellow students that he is an officer. Consequently, when one of the students sees him in his uniform, the entire class lashes out at him. They feel he was spying on them as an undercover agent. But, he had only kept his identity as a secret since his fellow officers had told him to do so. They had warned him that it is better to be silent about being a cop in social situations. On the other hand, Officer Chen has started thinking about working as an undercover cop. After spying on a seminar by Officer Harper on women going undercover, Chen is quite convinced that she should consider it as an opportunity.
