Between the years 2010 and 2014, Sandra was the highest-paid actress in the world. The Lake House is written for the cinema by David Auburn. It is the remake of the South Korean picture Il Mare. The Lake House centers on a tad-confusing story about two people living two years apart. There is an architect living in 2004 and a doctor living in 2006. A mailbox outside Sandra’s house is how they communicate. The two only meet via letters deposited at the lake house. Their story is separated by time, but they keep talking to each other over two years, remaining apart.

Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close is a 2011 American drama film. The story rests on a nine-year-old boy who suffers from Asperger syndrome named Oskar. His father was killed in the September 11 terrorist attacks. He has to deal with his dad’s absence while also finding the truth about who killed his father. Oskar believes that his dad left him a final goodbye message, and so he rests to track it down. Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close is directed by Stephen Daldry and written by Eric Roth. It is adapted from the novel of the same name by Jonathan Safran Foer. The movie has a star cast of Tom Hanks, Sandra Bullock, Thomas Horn, Max von Sydow, Viola Davis, John Goodman, Jeffrey Wright, and Zoe Caldwell.
Infamous (7.0)
Infamous is a 2006 American drama film. The movie tells the tale of Truman Capote’s attempt to research and write his 1965 best-selling non-fiction murder novel, In Cold Blood. Toby Jones plays the author and Sandra Bullock plays another author, Nelle Harper Lee who is best known for publishing To Kill a Mockingbird. Infamous failed to impress the audiences at the box office. But it did draw many similarities to the previous movie Capote. The rest of the cast includes Daniel Craig, Lee Pace, and Jeff Daniels. The movie is written and directed by Douglas McGrath.
Wrestling Ernest Hemingway (7.1)
Wrestling Ernest Hemingway is a 1993 American romantic drama film. The movie is directed by Randa Haines and written by Steve Conrad. It stars Richard Harris, Robert Duvall, Sandra Bullock, Shirley MacLaine, and Piper Laurie in the lead roles. The story revolves around two men, a retired Irish seaman and former Cuban barber who meet each other in Florida. These two men are discontent with their lives, and they begin a friendship to start to meet for food at the same place every day. This is the place where Elaine (Sandra Bullock) is a waitress. Walter orders the same food every day at this restaurant and he begins a friendship with Elaine, a young waitress. Wrestling Ernest Hemingway bombed at the box office, but it remains Sandra’s notable movies to this day.

The Prince of Egypt is a 1998 American animated musical drama film. The movie is an animated story that comes from DreamWorks in 1998. The story is that of Biblical Moses and his exodus. He lived as an Egyptian Prince, and he was rendered homeless. After some time, Moses goes to see Pharaoh, his adoptive father in order to save his people. Moses has a Hebrew heritage. In The Prince of Egypt, Val Kilmer plays the main character, Sandra Bullock portrays his biological sister, Miriam. Besides Val and Sandra, major actors Michelle Pfeiffer, Jeff Goldblum, Steve Martin, and Martin Short were a part of this film. No wonder it held the record of the highest-grossing non-Disney animated film released before the 2000s. The Prince of Egypt is directed by Brenda Chapman, Steve Hickner, and Simon Wells. Fun fact: The feature song “When You Believe” won Best Original Song at the 71st Academy Awards.

Speed is a 1994 American action-thriller film. It tells the tale of a police officer named Jack (Reeves) who foils a bomb squad head’s (Dennis Hopper) attempt to gather hostages. The member of the squad doesn’t let it go easily and seeks revenge. He places explosives on a bus that will go off if the bus drops below 50 mph. Jeff Daniels and Sandra Bullock ride the same bus. Keanu and these two must figure out how to keep them all safe. Speed is directed by Jan de Bont. The movie did very well both critically and commercially.
A Time To Kill (7.5)
A Time to Kill is a 1996 American courtroom crime drama film. The movie is based on John Grisham’s 1989 novel. It stars Sandra Bullock, Samuel L. Jackson, Matthew McConaughey, and Kevin Spacey in the lead roles. Sandra Bullock plays a law student who is one of Samuel’s defense team named Ellen Roark. The supporting cast includes Oliver Platt, Ashley Judd, Kiefer, and Donald Sutherland, and Patrick McGoohan. A Time to Kill was a critical and commercial success, making $152 million at the worldwide box office. The story is one of the events surrounding the rape of a ten-year-old girl in Mississippi. Eventually, the criminals are arrested, but this young girl’s father (Samuel L. Jackson) murders each one of them. He ends up facing a trial in the court.
The Blind Side (7.6)
The Blind Side is a 2009 American biographical sports drama film. The story is about a couple who takes in a homeless teen named Michael. Sandra Bullock played Michael’s mother in The Blind Side. She received an Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance. It is a true story, just in case you were wondering. Michael’s past has been troubled, but Sandra makes sure his future is bright. The boy wants to be a footballer. Sandra acts as a devoted soccer mom to make sure his career grow bigger. The Blind Side is written and directed by John Lee Hancock.
Gravity (7.7)
Gravity is a 2013 science fiction thriller film. In this film, Sandra Bullock starred besides George Clooney. She played an engineer who embarked on her first space mission. She starts on a positive note but soon her space shuttle is destroyed. Clooney, her astronaut partner tells her that the only way to get home might be to journey further away. Gravity is directed by Alfonso Cuarón. FYI, he has also co-written, co-edited, and produced the film.
Crash (7.8)
Crash is a 2004 American drama film. This one is Sandra Bullock’s most highly rated movie. Crash is produced, directed, and co-written by Paul Haggis. The plot features racial and social tensions in Los Angeles. The movie has several small stories, there is one in which District Attorney Rick Cabot (played by Brendan Fraser) and his wife Jean (played by Sandra Bullock) become victims of carjacking incident. The rest of the cast includes a huge ensemble Don Cheadle, Matt Dillon, Jennifer Esposito, William Fichtner, Terrence Howard, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Thandie Newton, Michael Peña, and Ryan Phillippe. It should be no surprise that Crash won the Best Picture at the 78th Academy Awards.
