Peter Rabbit follows the story of the titular character and his sisters. Thomas, McGregor’s nephew moves into the family manor where Peter resides in and he is quite not happy with Peter being there. This eventually led to a war between both trying to get rid of each other. The official synopsis for Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway sees Thomas, Bea, and the rabbits creating a family makeshift from themselves. Still, Peter for his parts can’t be serious for a second. He continues his mischievous adventures eventually ending up outside the garden into the big city. When he sees his family worrying about him and looking for him everywhere, it hits him. Peter Rabbit is left thinking about what kind of rabbit he wants to be for his beloved family and friends. A funny war begins between the Rabbits and Thomas as they intervene in Thomas’s renovation plans. Things start coming together when Bea intervenes. A girl for whom Thomas has his hearts on and serves as a mother figure to Rabbits. Eventually, Thomas and Peter come together for a not-so-easy truce. So looking at it, the sequel will be a way different from the first film which was full of fun and antics. This time it will be about responsibilities as Peter heads out of the city and finds his inner self. Peter dreams of wedding Bea someday and is making efforts that are going out well as seen in the trailer. His toy shop is working fine. Bea’s paintings are being sold well too. Peter Rabbit 2 Release Date
Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway is releasing on 2nd July 2021 in the United States. The movie has already released in Australia on March 25, 2021. The United Kingdom followed the same steps releasing it on May 21, 2021. Peter Rabbit 2 originally scheduled its release way back in February 2020. The Covid-19 pandemic saw the movie delay time and time again until Sony Pictures finally made its mind. With the pandemic restrictions taking it easy and theatres opening step by step, Peter Rabbit 2 started hitting theatres step by step too.
The Cast For Peter Rabbit 2
Almost all of the cast from Peter Rabbit are returning for the sequel. Starting off with the live-action characters. Domnhall Gleeson joins in as Thomas McGregor along with Rose Byrne playing the role of Bea. A new name is added to the live-action cast. David Oyelowo joins in as the new baddie. He will be playing the role of a character named Nigel Basil-Jones. The animated main cast of Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway starts off with the lead James Corden taking in the lead as the voice of Peter Rabbit. Margot Robbie joins as Flopsy Rabbit, Elizabeth Debicki as Mopsy Rabbit, and Aimee Horne as Cottontail Rabbit. Aimee Horne replaces Daisy Ridley who previously lent her voice to Cottontail. The rest of the supporting cast of Peter Rabbit 2 includes Colin Moody as Benjamin Bunny, Lennie James as Barnabas, Sia as Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle, Domhnall Gleeson as Mr. Jeremy Fisher, Rose Byrne as Jemima Puddle-Duck, and Sam Neill returning but this time as Tommy Brock.
