With 21 episodes already in, it seems like season 1 of Jujutsu Kaisen is coming to a wrap. So, will there be a season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen? The answer to this is yes, there has to be. The fans of Jujutsu Kaisen will definitely demand a second season after the success of the first. With so many arcs still left out in the manga, it only makes sense that the anime will continue with another season to cover more volumes of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Season 2 Release Date
Jujutsu Kaisen is finally coming to an end. It has only three more episodes to go till it finishes up. Although it is quite disappointing for the fans of the anime, Jujutsu Kaisen will make up for it with the wholesome and fun moments in the remaining episodes, which will lead fans to ask for more. As for the second season, there has been no official announcement stating its release. The official Twitter account has made various comments about the upcoming episodes. There has been no discussion regarding the news of any new season. It is fair to assume that the anime will have another season. The only contradiction that lies is in the release of the hypothetical second season. MAPPA already has four projects on hand due in 2021. If the second season continues with MAPPA (which I hope it does), we will not be getting another season till late 2022. However, this is all but an assumption keeping in mind that the creators of Jujutsu Kaisen actually decide to make another season. What To Expect in Season 2?
Spoiler Alert! There are some spoilers from the Jujutsu Kaisen manga ahead. Read at your own risk! Season 1 will probably end with the Kyoto Goodwill Event arc. So far, the anime is in well sync with the manga. The cast and staff have done a phenomenal job in executing the manga exactly how we pictured it. The manga has been running since 2018. It is hard to imagine that they would stop making more seasons of this brilliant anime. Especially, since there are more arcs ahead where the true power of the young Jujutsushi will be portrayed. If the second season is created and it follows the manga as the first season did, it will be another explosive success. In the latest episodes, we will see the sorcerers complete their event, which was kept at a halt due to the intrusion of the curses. Towards the end, the anime might leave easter eggs or cliffhangers for the upcoming arc. Season two will most probably feature the Death Painting Arc, one of the most happening arcs in the manga. Megumi, Nobara, and Yuji team up again to exorcise curses. We will see more dangerous curses resurface, which means more epic fight scenes between the curses and the sorcerers. In the Death Painting Arc, a series of mysterious murders take place. The victims share some suspicious similarities like the pre-events and the venue of murder, which is the doorway of their homes. The trio is sent to investigate the case and exorcise whichever curse crosses their path.
Why Is Season 2 So Important?
Ever since the anime adaptation has aired, we have dreaded to know what happens next in the story. Leaving the story unfinished midway will disgrace a brilliant masterpiece of a manga. I cannot emphasize how important it is for Jujutsu Kaisen to have more seasons. We barely know much about the main characters. We have seen an overpowered Gojo Satoru and Itadori Yuji, who has so much more space to grow. What about the rest of the main cast? In the Death Painting Arc, we will finally see Megumi Fushiguro unleash his ‘true’ powers. We have always seen Fushiguro hold back his strength. Even the King Of The Curses, Sukuna, has pointed out that Megumi has great potential. Moreover, he seems to have a peak of interest in the first year tsundere. A second season will give us more insight into the character’s past and abilities. Also, the first season has so much to still unravel. Like, who exactly is Geto Suguru? Why are so many curses resurfacing? A lot of questions are yet to be answered. Moreover, none of the major curses, such as Mahito or Hanabi, have been exorcised. To cover all these queries, a second season must be released instead of leaving the viewers hanging on an unfinished season.
