He wrestled in the famous wrestling championship of that World Wrestling Federation (WWF which later became WWE). Earlier in his college days, he used to play for the University of Miami. He won the college football tournament, which was held at the national level in the year 1991. Early Life

Dwayne Johnson aka The rock’s full name is Dwayne Douglas Johnson. He was born in the city of Haywards in California, on May 2nd in 1972. His mother was Ata Johnson and his father was also a wrestler by profession who is none other than the very famous Rocky Johnson. Before Johnson came to the state he used to live in the beautiful city of Grey Lynn. In his high school years unlike others being in one school, attended three different schools at three different places namely Hawaii, Tennessee, and then Pennsylvania. I would rather say he did not have the best of his luck as a teenaged kid. He got handcuffed many times under the charges of fighting, theft, and check fraud. But he got more focused on sports during his high school life. He joined the Gridiron Football, track, and field, and wrestling teams in his high school. From his family, he was not the only wrestler but his grandmother was also a wrestler. She was rec0gnised as the first Female Pro-Wrestling Promoter Showing respect to the ancestral wrestling background of her family. He included his father and his grandfather in the WWE’s Hall of Fame in 2008.

Wrestling and Football

Johnson had an optimistic view towards his football career. In his college days, he got offers to be a part of the team in the 1st Division Collegiate Programs. He got a scholarship for going to college. He was also a former student of the Miami University. He played the defensive part in his college days. He persuaded his college course in the subject namely Criminology and Physiology. He was also a part of Miami’s National team and took part in one of the popular tournaments of Miami named Miami Hurricanes in 1991. During his initial days of football, he was not a star player. He used to play as a backup of the other popular players such as the players from the Pro Football Hall of Farmer Warren Sapp. He completed his graduation in 1995. After that, he applied as a Linebacker with the Calgary Stampeders for the Canadian Football League. In his initial days there he was told to practice roster but a fate may happen he was cut out from the group in the first two months of his joining there. After being turned down by different teams during his football career for four years. He tried his hand in wrestling and stood out from others. In 1996 he started doing tryout matches with the World Wrestling Federation(WWF is later known as WWE). In his tryout matches, he was helped out by Pat Patterson. Till that time Johnson was popular with his real name. In the very same year on 10th March, he took part in a house show. He won the first round by defeating The Brooklyn Brawler but unfortunately lost the second round which was set with Chris Candido and Owen Hart. The summer of 1996, the time when Johnson’s wrestling career took a great turn. At that time he fought under the ring name Flex Kavana. USWA World Tag Team Championship not once but twice. In both, his matches for the Jerry Lawler’s United States Wrestling Association he fought against Bart Sawyer. After having to back to back win he signed the contract at the WWF. Other than his training he also received personal training from Tom Prichard, Mark Henry as well as Achim Albrecht.

Back in his initial days in WWE, he kept his ring name with the combination of his father and his grandfather’s ring name. It was Rocky Maivia. But the announcer used to call him by his real name. Later he was called by the name “The Blue Chipper”. His fights were broadcasted on Television. There was a hype of him being referred to as the first to be the third generation wrestler. He made his debut in wrestling on the 4th of November in the year 1996, on the show Monday Night Raw. He was shown as a member of the Marc Mero. His first wrestling match was telecasted in the same year on the 17th of November at Survivor Series. In the following year that 1997 he made his way to the Intercontinental Championship and won it from the Hunter Hearst Helmsley telecasted on the Monday Night Raw. But his win was followed by a loss as well. He lost the second match again his opponent Owen Hart on the 28th of April in 1997. He also got a few injuries and a major knee injury after the championship matches. After a few years, he entered a tournament named “deadly game” in the vacancy of the WWE championship. The finals were scheduled at the venue Survivor Series. where The rock defeated Mankind who was under the association of Vince McMahon. It was his first time winning the WWF competition. On the very next year that is on 13th December 1998, a show was named after his ring name, Rock Bottom: In your house. In that show, he had a rematch with Mankind for the previous WWF championship. After retiring from his Wrestling career he joined acting. Being already famous in his wrestling career it was not much of a struggle for him to come to the limelight. He began his acting career with a small television show. He did his first show in the year 1999, and at that time he was still a wrestler. In that show, he played the role of his father and the show was named That Wrestling Show.  About a year later he joined another show where he played the role of an alien Wrestler, who fights with the popular character of Seven of Nine. After being a part of a few television shows he began his career in the theaters in the year 2001 with the movie named The Mummy Returns. In the next few years, he did back to back movie playing parts as supporting as well as main roles. The movies are namely The Scorpion King premiered in 2002, The Rundown released in 2002, Walking Tall in 2004, Be Cool in 2005, Doom in 2005. He also got a chance to be a part of the movie Gridiron Gang which was released in the year 2o06. He also got chances in Reno 911!: Miami released in 2007 and Southland Tales in 2006. He also drew the role of an American Footballer who by nature is arrogant. The movie was named The Game Plan released in the year 2007. He also played the role of an agent in the movie Get Smart which was released in 2008. he was also a part of the 80th Academy Award show named Academy Award for Best Visual Effects. With all the success from his movies, he established his own production company named Seven Bucks Productions. The following year was the year of mega-success for him. He redid the role he was playing in the movie Fast & Furious6 released in 2013. The name of his character was Luke Hobbs. He also did a movie based on true stories in 2013 itself namely Pain & Gain and Empire State. In that very year, he also worked as a producer as he hosted the TNT reality competition series which was named The Hero. He also got nominated and won the Favorite Male Buttkicker Award at the 2013 popular award show named the Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards. With a booming career in 2013, he was declared to be the highest-grossing actor of 2013. He earned around $1.3 billion worldwide from his movies and shows in 2o13 itself. The reason for being on the top of the list is his movie Fast and Furious 6 which grossed around $789 million worldwide. 2015 was the year of domination for him. He ruled over the big screen with two of his back-to-back movies namely Furious 7 and San Andreas. He made his debut in the dramatic comedy series. He played the role of a retired footballer named Spencer Strasmore who later turned into a financial Planner on the Ballers. In 2016, Johnson provided his voice to a character from the animated Disney movie named Moana. In 1017 he got into making the other installation of the Fast and Furious series, which was adapted from a 1900s movie named Baywatch and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. The domination of Jumanji in the theaters continued in till 2018 making him the highest-grossing actor of all time. In 2018 his career received a booming success with movies like SkyScrapper and Rampage.  Keeping his wrestling background in mind he went on making a movie named Fighting with my Family which was inspired by the true story of a female boxer named Saraya “Paige” Bevis. Personal Life

1997 was the year when he finally married his high school love Dany Garcia. A few years later they became a parent of a beautiful baby girl. But due to some reason or the other, they both got separated somewhere around 2007 and their daughter stayed with Johnson. His ex-wife continued to be his manager. A few years later in 2019, Johnson got married to the very famous singer and music producer Lauren Hashian. in August of 2019. Later they gave birth to two baby girl named Jasmine Lia and Tianina Gia in 2015 and 2018 respectively

Dwayne Johnson popularly known by his ring name The Rock won many awards not only in his wrestling career but also in his acting career as well.
