The manga so far has six arcs. The sixth and ongoing arc began in the 67th chapter. The arc is called the Granola The Survivor Saga. It introduces a major character, Granola, who is very strong. This arc so far features Granola, Goku, Beerus, Vegeta, Oatmeel, Jaco, Elec, Whis, Seven-Three, Gas, Maki, Oil, and Zuno.
Dragon Ball Super Manga: Plot So Far
The 69th chapter of the manga is “The Evolution of Planet Cereal”.
Planet Cereal and The Wish
The chapter begins with Granola’s return to his home planet, Cereal. The planet is now occupied by Sugarians. Although they try to treat him as one of them, he refuses to stay with them and goes off to live in the mountains. We are given more insight into Granola’s planet. The planet was destroyed forty years ago by Saiyan, who was led by Bardock. The planet was rebuilt by Heeters and then sold to Sugarians. Later Granola goes to his house where he lives with a Namekian named Monaito. Monaito advises Granola not to go after Freiza since he is not strong yet. Granola however, argues that he can be stronger if he can use the planet’s Dragon Ball to summon a dragon. The only problem is that he cannot do so without having another Dragon Ball. Monaito only consoles him and tells him to enjoy life as he has now. Later, Granola learns about another Dragon Ball on the news. It was found by a young boy and kept at an institute for research purposes. Finding an opportunity, Granola sneaks into the facility and steals the Dragon Balls. As per his plan, he goes back to the mountains and summons a Dragon, Toronbo, using the Dragon Balls. He wishes to be the strongest warrior in Universe 7.
Beerus’ Planet
At Beerus’ Planet, Beerus is guiding Vegeta towards learning the technique used by God Of Destruction. He asks Vegeta about the history of the Saiyan. When Vegeta dodges the question, Beerus tells him to stop holding on to the sins of his race to reveal his true power. Beerus showcases his strength by destroying a decorative planet. To provoke Vegeta, he reveals that he was the one who ignited the attack on Planet Vegeta. This infuriates Vegeta, and he attacks Beerus, who dodges it and attacks back. Vegeta’s armor gets destroyed. Vegeta then hears the God Of Destruction, who tells him that to grow stronger, he must start from the beginning as destruction comes before creation.
Heeters Base
Elec learns about the presence of Dragon Balls while interrogating Zuno as he looks into the Galactic Brigade Bridge’s memories through Seven-Three. He remembers about the Namekian race and also thinks about Monaito. The following contains spoilers from Chapter 70 of Dragon Ball Super Manga.

The name of the next chapter is ‘The Greatest Warrior In The Universe.’ Granola wishes the Dragon to become the strongest warrior on Universe 7. The dragon answers that he cannot increase the strength of someone beyond their potential. Also, he might be the strongest, but the Gods will surpass his strength. The only way he can grant Granola’s wish is under a certain condition. Whatever the condition might be, Granola agrees. He transforms into a powerful form after the Dragon disappears. Granola’s hair grows bigger like Super Saiyan 3 form, but he cuts them off afterward. He shows off his newly found strength by picking up a boulder. When the dragon hears Granola’s wish, he informs Granola that he cannot make him the strongest warrior in the universe. The wish fails. Instead, he suggests that Granola’s current power will be doubled, however, that comes with a price. There will be a heavy toll on Granola’s body. As Granola agrees, he gets an apparent surge of power. Granola asks the Dragon, how much life is left for him now. The Dragon replies, Granola will only live for 3 years. Vegeta continues training with Beerus. He has started learning Hakai and starts manifesting it. Beerus steps ahead to tell him that, unlike Kiai, Hakai does not just mean the destruction of things but completely removing them from existence. Vegeta continues training and successfully destroys a small rock. He now decides to train hard to use his technique on larger objects. Seeing Vegeta’s growth, Goku feels the need to get stronger too. The oracle fish announces that the strongest warrior has emerged. However, it is not revealed who this warrior is. Whis has noticed Granola’s ship cruising through space, he says, ‘this could be trouble’ The chapter ends with Granola heading towards Frieza to take his revenge. From the preview for Dragon Ball Super Manga Chapter 71, it is also confirmed that Goku and Granola will clash in that chapter. As Granola reaches Frieza for vengeance, Goku heads towards Granola in search of powerful opponents. Granola’s Failed Wish and Goku’s mastered Ultra Instinct will clash in Chapter 71.
Dragon Ball Super Manga: Chapter 70 – Release Date
Chapter 70 of Dragon Ball Super is scheduled to release on 19 March at midnight JST, a month after the release of the previous chapter. The chapter will be published by Shueisha and will be available on Viz.
Highlights and Analysis
The upcoming chapter will be quite interesting. Granola’s wish has already brought quite an exciting turn in the events of the manga. Also, the dragon suggested that Gods can surpass him. So, this means that Granola will not remain the strongest warrior forever. He can be surpassed too. So, even if he is the strongest warrior now, Goku could still train harder and surpass him. However, the mysterious condition is what strikes the hardest when going through the spoilers. Granola gave up a massive amount of his life span for the dragon to double his power. It has made him stronger, and he has been able to show that surge. Despite all that, Frieza and Goku are powerful beings. We already have confirmation that Goku will activate the Ultra Instinct to fight Granola. This means that Granola already had massive power inside him and the wish just made it worse. We still need to know more about these powers. The clash between Goku and Granola is a highly anticipated one. The new chapter opens up further paths for new plots.
