What is the main plot of ‘Alice in Borderland’ (OVA)?

The main storyline of ‘Alice in Borderland’ revolves around a young boy named Ryohei Arisu. He is the main protagonist of this animated series and is just an average high schoolboy. Ryohei is a struggling boy who is extremely unhappy with his life. One day, Daikichi Karube and Chota Segawa, Ryohei’s friends, along with Ryohei himself, observe an unusually large firework that shot up to the sky. Their lives take an unexpected turn after looking at the shining and blazing explosion which was caused by the shooting star. When they opened their eyes, they were magically transported to a supernatural fantasy world called ‘Borderland’. The people who inhabit ‘Borderland’ are actually players who take part in a deadly game. In order to survive, the player or the inhabitant needs to complete strange and difficult tasks. The three friends do their best to complete their missions while simultaneously trying to figure out a way to get back to their homeland. Contradictorily, this is a game that made Ryohei feel great about himself. Something about the whole concept of death which revolved in this game, made him feel alive.
